This year New Covent Garden Market are running their British Flower Week from the 13-19 June. You can find out more by popping over to their website .

British flowers workshop - scottish edition

Collective Members Mill Pond Flower Farm and Simply by Arrangement along with Hedgerow present a workshop focusing on how to create beautiful hand tied bouquets, buttonholes and flower crowns. 

A light lunch and cake is provided. 

Monday September the 14th 2015. 10.30am - 4pm at Gayfield Creative Spaces, Edinburgh. £125.

Autumnal Flower class - garden gathered style with thomas bloom

mayfield flowers - british flower week


To celebrate the abundance and delight of British grown flowers , Mayfield Flowers in Ayrshire are having a couple of open evenings for people to come along and sample some of these beautiful and often fragrant flowers.  On Wednesday evening 6.30-8.30pm Mayfield Flowers will be having a pop up shop where you will have a chance to try their Flower Box Club with cakes and refreshments. Green and gorgeous - british flower week

A whole week of British Flower Inspiration in South Oxfordshire. At 2.30 pm each day with tea and coffee afterwards. No need to book, just turn up.

Wild flowers company - British flower week


Wild Flowers Company will be running a pop up shop on 69 Camden high street NW1 7JL during British Flowers Week (15th- 20th of June) where you will be able to purchase the best of British flowers, including British roses and peonies.

Also 2 workshops at the pop up shop in Camden in the evening:

Arranging British flowers 

Using your garden cut flowers and foliage or British flowers picked at the farmers market, learn foolproof tips to make an interesting flower arrangement every time. 

Tuesday 16th of June, 19:00 hrs

Wildlife-friendly and pretty containers and window boxes with Elaine Hughes

Learn how to plant your own stunning containers to add a burst of colour to your window-boxes, patios and balconies whilst making it wildlife friendly.

We will go through the different types of containers, the general principles of planting into shallow soil,  the required ongoing maintenance,  and ideas for planting combinations maintaining seasonal interest and providing habitat for wildlife.

You will go home with a precious hand-out, some seeds and seedlings for your to plant, lots of new ideas and more. You will also have a chance to ask Elaine any question you may have as this will be a very interactive session. Please bring your boxes or contaimers should you want to!

The workshop will be animated by Elaine Hughes, RHS Gold Medal award winning landscape designer with a special interest in creating beautiful and functional spaces that are also as biodiverse and sustainable as possible.

June 19th - GROW London


Have you ever seen a bouquet that looks good enough to eat? Petersham Nurseries’ Thomas Broom shows you how to create a beautiful bouquet of British grown edible flowers and foliage, including blooms you may not have thought were even edible! 

This talk by our very own Collective member; Thomas Bloom is part of  GROW LONDON - The Contemporary Garden Fair  which runs from the 19th -21st June, the weekend following British Flowers Week.

British Flowers week is fast approaching.  A week long celebration of the British grown flower industry starts Monday 15th June to Friday 19th June.  Lots of our members will be holding special events, competitions, etc.  Check this page for regular updates.

Yesterday the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh visited The Tower of London to pay tribute to the British and Commonwealth dead from the First World War.

The Queen walked through the sea of ceramic poppies which was created by artist Paul Cummins.
